                          NARHRI Helps Texas Investors

The National Association of Responsible Home Rebuilders and Investors (NARHRI) first entered Texas in 2006, to help with creation of new statutes governing lease-option transactions - to make them legal again. Unfortunately, despite a strong effort, the measure was stalled in the House at the end of the 2006 session.

Since that time, NARHRI has assumed a leadership role on this issue in Texas, and plans to address additional issues when the next session of the legislature convenes, in 2009. For the remainder of 2007 and all of 2008, NARHRI is coordinating meetings and “CARES Program” events with key political figures in the state.
The short-term goal is to secure additional House support and Senate sponsorship of the lease-option statute. The long-term goal is to improve the political influence and image of home rehabbers and investors throughout the state with officials who have authority over the industry.

NARHRI hopes to be able to establish an on-going advocacy program in Texas on a long-term basis. NARHRI would seek to lead on several key issues every legislative session, and work during the adjournment period to provide the level of service and high-quality representation that investors in Texas deserve. TexREIA hopes to be able to provide part of the funding needed to make this work possible.

NARHRI is the national advocacy group for real estate investors, based in Washington, D.C., which actively lobbies legislative issues nationally and in several states. The NARHRI " CARES Program " is an information campaign designed to inform legislators regarding specific examples of the many ways that real estate investors contribute positively to their communities, economies and the lives of individual homeowners. Homevestors of America is a major contributor to the support of the work of NARHRI nationally.

An major part of the mission of TexREIA is conducting fund raising activities to help provide financial support for the very important work of NARHRI in Texas.
